This song escalates into a climatic pounding of full chords and a dissonant run of
arpeggios to express the frustration this song was written in. It was written
in early 08 during the winter. It's a little melodramatic as I have no desire
to literally give up and die, however, it does try to express the voice of all
around the world who have seen pain beyond pain, who are suffering immensely.
It also talks a lot about I want to die to myself, let the slavery to sin that
runs through me die, and be built completely new in Christ, reborn. I want a
renewing of my mind, the loss of evil- replaced with love; this is
who I want to become. The very first line refers to one of the youth group
kids from Hartley, IA who prayed about a spiritual revolution, it was a great prayer, and I wrote
this later that night.
